Davide Battistin (b.1970)
Davide Battistin was born in Venice in 1970. He attended the Accademia di Belle Arti. In 1997 he won a one year grant to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens to study anatomy and painting from the life model. He earning his diploma in 1998 from the Accademia with his thesis on Venetian landscape painting of the 19th century. In 1999 he participated in the Fourth International Workshop and Seminar in European Contemporary Art at Ryn, Poland. He has recently been appointed a position to teach painting at the Scuola Internationale di Grafica in Venice. He has done extensive work in Venice restoring frescos, stucco and marble works. He is especially noted for his commissioned portraiture. His studio is on the top floor of Palazzo Papadopoli, a 16th century palace overlooking the Grande Canal near the Rialto Bridge.
