Edward Bouverie Hoyton FRSA (1900-1988)
Born in 1900, Edward Bouverie-Hoyton studied at the Goldsmith College and became part of a new era of creative etchers and engravers in the 1020s. In 1926 he won the ?Prix de Rome? and studied for three years at the British School in Rome. He was a Lecturer at Leeds College of Art from 1934 to 1941 and then became the Principal of the Penzance School of Art bringing in Bernard Leach Michael and David Leach and Barbara Tribe to teach the full-time students there. He was Vice President and Chairman of the St Ives Society of Artists. He exhibited frequently at the Royal Academy and his work is included in the British Museum. He is especially sought after by American collectors.
