John Wallace Tucker (1808-1869)
John Wallace Tucker was the son of Frederick Wallace Tucker, a member of a family of painters. He was apprenticed very young and as a late teenager he was producing very competent paintings. Painting was a business for Tucker and his panels usually provided details of location and date inscribed on the reverse. His works were noted for their mellow light.
