Tom Wasik painted wood
Tom Wasik was born in 1958. He received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Master of Fine Arts from Hunter College in New York City. He has taught art at Long Island University in Southampton, Suffolk Community College in Riverhead, NY and The Art Barge in Amagansett, NY. He has exhibited widely including solo exhibitions in Chicago, New York City (3), and Watermill, NY. He has works in a number of Corporate Collections and has exhibited for five years with Galerie Pelar. Mr Wasik works in a variety of modes and media toying with various aspects of Modernist vocabulary. Materials include wood, toned photographs, silkscreen, woodblock print, solar plate etching and stencil. Dry pigments and polymers are employed along with pencil, varnishes and collage.
